The Web is Not The Internet!
April 27, 2008
The shelter I’m living in allows us access to the “Internet” but the staff think that the web is the Internet, so I can’t use email, newsreader, irc, ftp or telnet. In other words, I can’t do about 90% of the things I use the Internet for. Even the web is crippled by parental controls – past episodes of Jeremy Kyle on ITV’s web site are blocked and yet YouTube is not. It’s too crazy for words, hence the short post.
I shall be having a word with them tomorrow.
What a load of old pooh…

That there are more web sites telling people how to kill themselves than offering help. I’ve never heard so much nonsense in all me life! And, yes, I would know, I spent years looking for a surefire way to kill myself. The researcher’s methodology sounds extremely dodgy to me.
